Keep your eye on the wall!

There is a wall in Wilhemsburg- Hamburg that struck the attention of an artist collective from Istanbul and artist from Berlin. This is a wall that stands near the U-bahn very close to the shoppingmall next door and the wall is too big to be out of sight but strangely the group recognizes that it is invisible for most of the residents in the neighbourhood so they started to ask questions and searching for answers and more questions about the “wall”.
The project 15x75m Hingucken-Weggucken will start on the 17th of August with the collaboration of artists and neighbours from the region. The usage and the meaning of the wall will be first searched by free climbers and then the minibus of the project will lead its way though Hamburg to search for possible meanings of the “wall”, the minibus will be at 4 spots in Hamburg.
Oda Projesi & Nadin Reschke Kindlimann has worked together before in Istanbul in a project by Oda Projesi. (www.odaprojesi.org) The finissage event will be in the official opening of the exhibition on the 1st of September with surprises on and around the wall.

Es ist eine Wand in Wilhemsburg, die die Aufmerksamkeit des Kunstkollektivs aus Istanbul und Berlin auf sich zieht. Eine Wand an der S-Bahn Haltestelle Wilhelmsburg, direkt neben dem großen Einkaufskomplex. Die Wand ist zu groß um übersehen zu werden und doch nehmen erstaunlicherweise die meisten Anwohner sie nicht wahr, wie die Künstlerinnen feststellen. So fangen sie an Fragen um und über die Wand zu stellen, Antworten zu suchen und weitere Fragen aufzuwerfen. Das Projekt 15x75 Hingucken, Weggucken startete am 17. August und entsteht in Zusammenarbeit von Anwohnern und Künstlern. Der Umgang mit und die Nutzung der Wand wird zur Projekteröffnung von Freeclimbern aus Hamburg erprobt. Danach wird der Minibus des Projektes auf dem Weg durch Hamburg/ Wilhelmsburg sein und auf 4 Stationen nach neuen Bedeutungen der Wand und für die Wand suchen. Oda Projesi und Nadin Reschke Kindliman haben schon in Istandbul, in einem Projekt von Oda Projesi (www.oda.proesi.org) zusammen gearbeitet. Die Finissage wird gleichzeitig die Eröffnung der Ausstellung sein und wird von Überraschungen um, über und mit der Wand begleitet werden.
